Abstract
'Onderschat het belang van het publieke debat over integriteit niet.’ Want normen over goed bestuur verschuiven in de tijd en dat mag geen verrassing zijn voor politici of bestuurders. ‘Reageer met prudentie en onderscheidingsvermogen’ bij het aankaarten, beoordelen en sanctioneren van niet-integer gedrag. Want valse of overdreven beschuldigingen zijn niet-integer. Dat zijn de eerste twee lessen die Patrick Overeem (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam) en Toon Kerkhoff (Universiteit Leiden) trekken uit hun historisch onderzoek naar meer dan 70 jaar integriteitskwesties.
