Abstract

We detected the infrared light (at wavelength about 1 mum) emitted in an Ar-Xe gaseous mixture during the multiplication process near a thin wire and measured the light signal dependence on gas pressure and wire gain. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B,V. All rights reserved.
