Abstract
This first LIMBO – queer exilic narratives booklet captures the origins of LIMBO and its early practices during the initial eight weeks of development. It offers insight into the emotional, creative, and methodological foundations that shaped the project. LIMBO is a collaborative, community-based research initiative between queer refugee organizers, artists, and Refugee Academy (VU Amsterdam). Through creative workshops, LIMBO centers queer refugee stories and lived experiences, co-creating knowledge with and about queer and racialized communities. The project intertwines community care, artistic expression, research, and advocacy. Rooted in a vision of justice and self-determination, and by bridging community organizing, art, and academia, the booklet reflects on how engaged scholarship can redistribute resources, amplify marginalized voices, and co-create safer, transformative spaces for queer refugee perspectives to be heard, felt, and seen.
