Abstract
We present the derivation of Lyapunov and free energy functionals for generalized Fokker-Planck equations including those proposed by Desai and Zwanzig, Kuramoto, Kaniadakis and Quarati, and Plastino and Plastino. Thus, we demonstrate a common feature of processes described by generalized Fokker-Planck equations: the decrease of an appropriately defined free energy. © 2001 Elsevier Science B.V.
