N2 - In his Understanding the Christianity-Evolution Relationship, Michael Ruse puts oldwine in new skins. In an original and illuminating way, he approaches his topic fromthe perspective of the age-old divide between mechanistic and organicist ways ofthinking. Yet, this does not bring him to new conclusions as compared to his earlierwork on the topic. In response, I argue that a more rigorous conceptual and doctrinalanalysis is needed to sort out whether Darwinian evolution makes God redundant orwhether it actually accords more with theism than with naturalism.
