Abstract

This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows: To assess the effects (benefits and harms) of oral and topical non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) for acute ankle sprains and to determine whether there is evidence for differences in effectiveness between oral and topical preparations. The comparisons will be as follows: Oral NSAIDs versus placebo; Topical NSAIDs versus placebo; Oral NSAIDs versus topical NSAIDs.
