    Abstract

Nonextensivity is shown to be consistent with the second law of thermodynamics when involved in the genesis of two kinds of nonlinear diffusion processes: processes satisfying the nonlinear Fokker-Planck equation/canonical ensemble correspondence and processes solving nonlinear Master equations with symmetric transition rate matrices.
