Abstract

The main contribution of this paper is to show how visual representations of information can be based on ontological classifications of that information. We first discuss the central r ole of ontologies on the Semantic Web. We subsequently outline our general approach to the construction of ontology-based visualisations of data. This is followed by a set of examples of ontology-based visualisations which all differ in interesting respects. The paper concludes with a brief discussion of related work. 1
