Abstract
Ontrechting is een proces van juridische uitsluiting. Het is het doelbewust schaden van de mogelijkheid van mensen om deel te kunnen nemen aan de maatschappij. Dat gebeurt door het afnemen van rechten, via wetgeving of door feitelijke, soms gewelddadige handelingen. Wie zijn rechten verliest is steeds minder goed in staat om aan het publieke en economische leven deel te nemen. Degenen die erdoor worden getroffen, raken in toenemende mate geïsoleerd en worden uiteindelijk geheel rechteloos, vogelvrij.
