Abstract
The field of psychotherapy has seen several new developments in recent years. In this refresher course paper, we describe a few of these new forms atization and reprocessing, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and schema therapy. We describe the content of these treatments, review the scientific evidence for these therapies, and indicate for which groups of patients these therapies have been found to be effective. We conclude with a few practical implications for general practice.
