Abstract

There are several indications of a growing interest in capillary electrophoresis (CE) techniques in industry. An important driving force is the biopharmaceutical industry, where the capillary format replaces the slab gel. This process is speeded up by several biotech products coming off patent, with CE methods in their pharmacopeial monographs. Guest auhtos Cari Sänger checks on whether a revival of the CE techniques is indeed taking place and discusses possible driving forces and key success and risk factors.
