Abstract

OSA is characterized by repetitive complete or partial obstruction of the upper airway during sleep. Hypoxemia, hypercapnia, and metabolic disturbances lead to cardiovascular, neurovascular, pulmonary, and metabolic disorders in the long term [1]. OSA treatment aims to reduce these symptoms, long-term risks, and the risk of traffic, domestic, or workplace accidents caused by excessive daytime sleepiness [2].
