Abstract

Definition:
Peace studies, as an academic discipline, examines violent and nonviolent behaviors alongside the structural factors and mechanisms that contribute to conflict, with the aim of understanding and promoting sustainable peace. It began to take shape in the mid-twentieth century, with its formal establishment traced back to the post–World War II era.
