    Abstract

Nowadays investigating innovative therapeutic strategies to combat drug resistance in cancer treatment is of primary importance. This dissertation is focused on the synthesis and biological evaluation of novel small molecules targeting key pathways involved in chemo resistance, such as protein kinases CDK7 and FAK, exploring alternative therapeutic targets as well, including splicing factors and apoptotic pathways. These strategies are specifically evaluated in Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma (PDAC) and Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer.
