Abstract

The history of the photo-electric effect shows top physicists like Millikan and Bohr had great difficulty accepting revolutionary concepts such as the quantization of electro-magnetic radiation. Even after Einstein received the Nobel prize for the law of the photo-electric effect, top physicists still did not accept his basic explanation.
