Abstract

This thesis presents a sequence of papers to illustrate selected aspects of the neglect of global oral health, highlights new approaches to describing the extent and impact of dental caries, explains the difficulties related to quality assurance of fluoride toothpastes; and, finally, describes a successful model for school health, which integrates oral health. Moreover, the important role of advocacy in different contexts is illustrated.
