Abstract

Close your eyes. Trace your fingers across the table of contents. Breathe. Pause. Let your finger land on the page. Open your eyes. Breathe. Pause. Poetry, music, song, short story, an essay—to where have you arrived? Select the piece you found through a serendipitous flick of hand. Turn the pages slowly as you pass by many different creative forms. Read, pause, find joy in it. Repeat this process when you need to. Creative work is always a salve. Dip in and out. Let this book lie on your bedside locker or a coffee table. Let this book provoke your imagination. Let the contributions inspire in you a desire for experimentality, for creativity—to bring more creative anthropology into this world. Close your eyes once more. Trace the table of contents again. Choose again, pause again, breathe again, and this time listen.
