Abstract
An efficient method to generate third-harmonic light of any continuous wave (cw) single-mode laser was developed. An external enhancement cavity was used to generate the second harmonic. Starting with 2.1 W light at the fundamental wavelength of 817 nm up to 175 mW of output power at 272 nm was attained.
