Abstract

This thesis explored various ways to address stress and trauma in India for reducing the mental health gap. In an LMIC such as India, there needs to be many ways to help address stress and trauma. Various capacity-building strategies can be developed and implemented for mental health service users or potential users. It is also important to develop the capacity of mental health service providers to address stress and trauma effectively. For these, small scale as well as large scale programmes can be designed and implemented, with effective knowledge dissemination. In making health as well as education policies for LMICs, these can be considered.
