Verjaring van een premievordering start bij de opeisbaarheid daarvan. Dat beperkt de mogelijkheid om achterstallige premies te vorderen in tijd. Een schadevordering is dan een alternatief: een andere grondslag en een ander aanvangsmoment van de verjaring.
