Abstract

In this study the views of family members of residents with dementia in a nursing home were explored.These clustered around six domains: physical appearance and physical care; alertness and involvement of staff; respect, connection, affectness and a cosy atmosphere; attention, listening, patience, providing safety; treatment based on equality and not blaming each other; stimulating and activating without coercion. Suggestions for future research are given.
