Abstract
In this article the three main theories/models of divine guidance in everyday life - guidance through (1) external events, (2) internal experiences, and (3) character formation - are briefly compared, assessed and applied to situations of trans-religious foster care. It is argued that the third model, especially when interpreted in light of virtue ethics, provides the best point of departure as it leads to mature decision-making.
